The Shed Welcomes the First Grouse of the Season

The start of the British game season is almost here, and The Shed is marking the occasion in true form. From 13th August, we're serving the season's first grouse as a special on our à la carte menu, prepared the Shed way to celebrate one of Britain's great food traditions.

Grouse is a wild bird through and through — shot on the Yorkshire moors, never farmed — which is exactly what makes its arrival each August such an event. This year, only 120 birds are arriving across all our restaurants for opening week, so our Notting Hill kitchen will have a genuinely limited number to offer.

Our Young Yorkshire Grouse comes with elderberries, cauliflower purée and crispy bacon, finished with wood sorrel — a dish that lets the bird's rich, gamey character take centre stage, balanced by sweetness, earthiness and a sharp citrus lift. It's a true celebration of British produce, seasonality and the ingredients that define our philosophy.

If you've been waiting for the first grouse of the season, now's the time to book your table at The Shed, Notting Hill.
